What Drives You?

What drives you? Some of us are driven by validation, some of us are driven by love and some by fear. For me in a lot of examples it’s the latter, fear of what people might say, fear of the piercing laughter, fear of letting someone you love down. It took me many years to figure out that a positive mindset should be my only vehicle, a positive mind equals positive results. Fear is a part of our imagination, my goal is to step back and analyze the situation and tackle it head on instead of being paralyzed with fear. My goal is to minimize all of the programs and constructs I was fed my entire life and just Be the best human I can be without fear. I hope this post help someone, leave a comment bellow.

Wellness Wednesday

Hello beautiful people, I hope all is well with you. Today I woke up focused on adding a new goal to my walking journey. As you’ve seen in previous posts, I usually walk 6.60 miles when I have the opportunity to do so. I started with deep stretching because my hamstrings been a little tight, tight hamstrings are no fun when you’re walking long distances like I do. So today I pushed myself a little harder, and to say I’m beyond proud of myself is a understatement. Family, I did 10 miles, not too shabby for a old dude…haha!! But for real, whenever possible I encourage you all to exercise in some form or fashion, you will feel so much better for doing so.

What to eat on a A Positive blood type diet

I’ve been seeing folks on Twitter debate the blood type diet, so I picked a random blood type and this is what I found.

Blood Type: A Positive.

  • soy protein, such as tofu
  • certain grains, such as spelt, hulled barley, and sprouted bread
  • walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and peanuts
  • olive oil
  • certain fruits, such as blueberries and elderberries
  • certain kinds of beans and legumes
  • certain vegetables, especially dark, leafy greens, such as kale, Swiss chard, and spinach
  • garlic and onions
  • cold-water fish, such as sardines and salmon

Latchkey Kids?

Are there any latch key kids out there? The definition for Latchkey Kid: is a child who returns to an empty home after school or a child who is often left at home with no supervision because their parent is away at work. This started with me when I was in the 3rd grade (1980s) because my parents had split up but I had an advantage because my grandparents stayed next door, so if things got a little dicey I would haul tail over there. To look back at it, my mom allowed me to have independence at a very early age, even if it was by default. I learned how to cook simple meals by watching my mom, grandmothers, and Julia Childs on TV. My mom taught me how to clean up after myself, wash dishes, and personal hygiene care. I learned how to be a man via my uncles on both sides of the family and I learned how to love via the constructs of Hollywood and television, which I’m still trying to unlearn today…lol. But all in all being a latchkey kid was a good experience for me, it allowed me to dive deep into myself, it allowed me to start the healing process from the trauma of being born with a birth defect and lastly it allowed me to see my future self, the man I am today, and for that I am forever grateful that I was a latchkey kid, those were simpler and majestic times!❤️
